I have participated in a course entitled “Umiejętności Jutra AI” organised by Google and SGH. Honestly, not speaking linkedinese the course was great and eye-opening. I was thrilled to hear experts sharing their knowledge. Even though it may sound like mentioned linkedinese, the course really had a huge impact on the way I perceive a future usage of AI based tools
Course consisted of a presentation of wide variety of tools as well as the concepts how to apply shown techniques in a real business. Moreover, it was a pleasure to hear the balanced point of view on AI usage, namely – it is just a tool that without our control, supervision and steering is not going to do any meaningful task. Speakers showed techniques how to properly use these tools with scenarios that they may really improve our efficiency.
The most important idea that I have taken from the course is that AI is a really great tool, but as every tool – we need to have clear idea, we have to operate that tool, know its use cases and limitations (the same goes with hammer, you may use it for almost everything, but it’s not the best idea, right?). Moreover I have started to see similarities between how steam engine had caused industrial revolution and changed the way how we work (it had not taken away our jobs, but changed them, allowed us to move to more difficult tasks) and how AI is starting to cause a new revolution. It seems to me that some of repetitive and time consuming tasks for example like ones from Q3 in Eisenhower matrix, may in a near future be at least partially automated using AI tools giving us more time for the important tasks described by the mentioned matrix in Q2 – namely we can delegate easy tasks that bother our minds and require a lot of context switching to the tool, leaving the time for us for deep concentration on the creative tasks that require critical and innovative thinking and the responsibility.
